Gas Tax Rebate
Chief Sol Sanderson and Agricultural Minister Gordon MacMurchy ended the spring conference by signing a four year agreement for gas tax rebates equal to the amount consumed on reserves-following a green light given by Saskatchewan's 69 Indian Chiefs.

Northern Pipeline Allowed Despite Native Land Claims
The National Energy Board has approved the construction of an oil pipeline along the Mackenzie River, even though native groups say no line should be built in the North until land claims are settled.
